The first performance that I have seen in this festival is “Vickie Phillips: A Carousel of Colors with Brel, Weill and Aznavour” by Bob Ost and Vickie Phillips, directed by Bob Ost, music director Gerry Dieffenbach; and starring Vickie Phillips.
The audience gets a first-class performance from Vickie. She educates the audience about the lives of Jacques Brel, Kurt Weill and Charles Aznavour; and she reiterates what their compositions mean to her and their contributions to humanity. She sings each of the composers’ songs with grace, and the audience reminisces to the lyrics with a sense of euphoria.
The reviewer’s point of view: This Cabaret show is Vickie’s best performance, and I will recommend it to theatre goers.
