Max and Willy are business partners chasing the “American Dream,” but who keep getting caught up in other people’s schemes.  Not this time!  Bankrolled by Tommy Grace, the two immigrant childhood friends are determined to “go legit.” Their Hell’s Kitchen nightclub in the West 40’s is designed to make patrons think they’ve arrived in the East 50’s. We got a chance to speak with one of the stars of this runaway hit, DAVINA! We chatted about the electrifying show and her own electricity!

“I have always been a performer since I was a young girl, I loved anything that involved singing and acting and fun costumes! AND I am a solo artist songwriter and a musical theatre performer too,” says Davina, lighting up the room as she spoke.

Davina possesses two personas as an artist. One is a powerhouse performer — still a little stage struck as in the old Hollywood movies, loving her work on stage and cabaret. And the second is the introspective songwriter, looking at the world and the lyrics it creates.

What drew you to this project?

The fact that this was 1920s definitely drew me into audition for this project, I love going back in time I guess I am an old soul like that plus the name Fifth Avenue was very catchy!

What’s your creative process and what do you need to “forget” to play these 1920s characters?

Before going on stage as Gloria I try to envision the atmosphere of how it was like then how they had no cell phones or laptops etc I try to listen to music set in that time too to get me into that ERA.

What’s next for you?

As I continue to play and love my role as Gloria..I as Davinia am working on writing an album that  I have solo shows booked for 2024! I also want to be on broadway in the future and I am confident I will get there 🙂
