Guest Writer, Susan Mitchell, reviews LEAVING KIEV

Written by:

“LEAVING KIEV: COMING FULL CIRCLE,” Mila Levine’s One-woman show about her journey escaping persecution and building a life in America is an absolutely engaging piece.

Ms. Levine gives a tour-de-force performance retelling her very personal dealings with the  antisemitism plague that has arisen and even increased recently.

She herself is a triple threat: the show features her singing her beautiful original songs, her graceful dancing while delivering a monologue seamlessly, and of course her powerful acting chops. Let me add that the show is filled with humor as Levine is an extremely adept impressionist and introduces the many hilarious characters (and villains) who have shaped her life.

LEAVING KIEV is profound, funny, inspiring and educational.  Anyone or group who has  experienced bullying, persecution, or  has been discriminated against or  treated unfairly will relate to this message. It appeals to all senses- visually, aurally and experimentally. There is a surprise ending which is heart wrenching and astoundingly beautiful.  Don’t miss it!”
